Yup. I missed 5-8 of the wire (watching it now - I wish HBO-Go could keep better track of what I watch like Netflix). Now I know why Omar never killed Marlo like I was expecting.

Sorry to have to tell you the bad news. A friend of mine just viewed the entire series for the first time and she kept asking me to tell her what was going to happen next. Naturally, I wouldn't do it, except to tell her that something bad was going to happen to someone she cared about.

YES! I remember watching that episode and my jaw dropping … there they were, just waiting for the elevator, door opens and down she goes … wow.

I always thought of that episode when Joey (from Friends) was in a soap. His character was supposed to die like that. The elevator door opened, and he'd try to get others to go ahead of him! Too funny!

Actually, Edith died at the beginning of the 2nd season of Archie Bunker's Place. Jean Stapleton didn't like her reduced role in the revamped show and left after the first season so they killed her off with a stroke to start the 2nd season.

Dr Reed's girlfriend on Criminal Minds. The only woman he had ever loved. They were so cautious and tentative. Then just when they decided to take the next step, kerblam! She's shot and killed right in front of his eyes. I was sad for Dr Reed for DAYS afterward.

Henry Blake is definitely the benchmark...

Edith Bunker passing away suddenly is another.

Joss Carter's death on Person of Interest definitely came straight out of nowhere, at least for me. I will miss her character a lot.
