This premiere sets up the season in an interesting way. There's no overall goal like there was in the second half of season four (reaching Terminus). The group has no home base to defend. I assume Rick will take up Abraham's cause and go to Washington, DC. In the episode last season when Beth and Darryl were in the country club, Beth was touching a lot of Washington, DC-related objects so I wonder if the producers were dropping hints?
Regarding Tyreese's toughness, the writers make an interesting contrast with that character. He physically looks intimidating and menacing but the irony is that he's actually the opposite.
She's gotten faaaaat.. lol. I only recognized her from the voice.
Actually.. It was more realistic, to me, the way it was filmed.. A bullet generally won't detonate fuel.. Propane is a little different than gasoline.. I have seen people detonate propane tanks with a bullet, but.. It was much more likely that the bullet would pass through, any sparks it created would go out before a proper fuel-to-air ratio was met. See the Mythbusters on this. Easier to do with propane, but, still not a guarantee at all.
The totally unrealistic thing that I was calling BS on was that they lined up 8 people to be killed and our heroes were the last 4 and they stopped RIGHT BEFORE they got to them.
Throw a disposable character in at #4 in line and let them live, then get eaten during the escape or something.
I think we're calling them "brown shirts" now. The first guy they killed was somewhat less of a brown shirt since he actually had a speaking part last season.
I am wondering if I was the only one laughing at some of the zombies.... I think I was giddy from lack of WD for so long!
I was too! I was actually impressed with how much better they seem to look. One of the guys on Talking Dead did mention that they are trying to make them more skeletal-looking this season. I'm usually the type of fan that likes the story more than the actual killing of zombies, but last night I was laughing and cheering.

That was somehow less realistic than hitting a propane tank with a bottle rocket on the first attempt?
