Ratings are not strong enough to keep it alive. So it will take other reasons--maybe ABC has nothing better to replace it, or there is some economic reason to renew it.

Aww, that's sad to hear.
I liked last night's episode. That was sad too. I would have liked to have seen Abigail reunited with Henry and Abe.
Looks like Jo May get some answers next week? There are only 1 or 2 eppies left, right?
Henry and Jo are 2 of the best looking, hottest stars working together, in my opinion.
Like Judith Light and Tony Danza...I hope they keep the romantic tension
alive for a long time or the show is gone, as we know.
Jo needs someone as we can see by her responding so quickly to the
attention from Cuba.

I really hope that they do not cancel one of the best TV shows on right now. I just don't understand why people aren't tuning in more because the storylines and characters are interesting, the acting is great, and the story grows with each episode - you tune in because you want to find out what happens next and you care about the characters - that's good TV. I will be very disappointed if the show is cancelled and to be replaced by what? Another reality show...? Some nights I don't even watch any TV at all because nothing is on. ABC will be making a huge mistake if they cancel "Forever". In the old days, networks used to give shows a chance and there were a lot of shows in the past that suffered from low ratings in the beginning, and then boom ratings soared and Emmys were won.

The show is never going to be a huge hit. But there is a question of ABC simply deciding that it isn't going to get much better on Tuesday night at 10 PM. Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is not a strong lead in, and whatever show get's scheduled for Tuesday at 10 PM flounders. The best luck they've had in the last few years is Body of Proof.
Forever has a decent story arc and appealing characters. I hate to see it cancelled for the potential for a hit, but instead just follow through with another show that will be gone in a few weeks.
Open disclosure: I watched all the episodes of New Amsterdam which was another show about an immortal living in NYC who had been born in 1607 which made him older than Dr Henry Morgan born 1779.
