Season 3 is like Seasons 1 & 2 in the aspect of being very slow moving. That's part of its darkness. It's also like a puzzle with clues from each episode. Season 4 is fast moving by comparison, but you need to watch Season 3 to understand Season 4.
I know that seasons 1 and 2 were filmed such that each episode was a whole day in the investigation. So it may seem slow in that not every day is going to be non-stop action. I didn't pay attention if that was still the case for 3, and I haven't seen 4 yet.

Seasons 3 and 4 aren't one day, but I don't think that's the reason the first two seasons dragged along. In the series 24, each episode represented one hour in a day, and it didn't drag along. The Killing writers focused on little details and waited weeks before connecting details. Those seasons just had a slow dark gloom about them. I loved it, but I can understand how it could feel like torture to other people. Even though I liked the show, I didn't care who the hell killed Rosie halfway through season 2. LOL
In post 28 with spoiler tag, did you mean Adrian's Mom instead of Rosie?
Oh, you're right. Silly me. The main point was explaining the wheelchair background and how it relates to Season 4. I didn't go into a lot of detail. I was just thinking of specific characters in Season 4 that might need a little background information for anyone who plans to skip season 2 and 3. By all means, add more spoilers if you think there's something else relevant. I was going to mention the death row guy but his storyline is pretty clear in season 3 by itself.
If anybody is interested, you can watch the original Forbrynelsen I with english subtitles on Dailymotion. Limukohou is the one who has it. I thought they were the same story but someone said there is a different killer in the original and they also skipped the reservation so I am now all excited to watch since so many say it is better than The Killing.
The easiest way to find: Google "Limukohou on dailymotion". Then subscribe to Limukohou.
If you have Roku 3, Daileymotion is on there so you can watch on your TV.
I actually love my Roku!!!
