Gunsmoke because it ran for 20 years. There will be more episodes to watch.

Well, two I've already got: I Love Lucy & Golden Girls. I'd probably add either Little House on the Prairie or Roseanne.

I'd add Stargate SG1 and the original NCIS
I forgot about SG-1. I'm switching Survivorman to SG-1!

I could go with 2 of my favorite shows here Bonanza and Little House for my third pick I would like all of the Survivor seasons. I could watch and rewatch analyzing strategies and following certain players as they returned to "favorites" shows.

I'm going by 1) whether I loved the show, and 2) the complete series will have to be sufficiently long so that I'll have LOTS of DVDs. So, I may have loved Freaks & Geeks or Carnivale but the complete series were so brief, they would not be worth taking to a desert island.

1.) Star Trek: The Next Generation (adventure, comedy, love, good vs evil, religion & philosophy are all covered)

2.) Little House (for the warmth and fuzziness, and nostalgia for my childhood)

3.) Monty Python (to laugh my a$$ off)

Oh my god, I just watched Freaks & Geeks for the first time ever earlier this year. That show was AWESOME! I had no idea. Bummer it was only one season.

Hmmm...

**LOST - because I love the show and it would feel at home
**Happy Endings, Will & Grace, or Roseanne - need some humor
**General Hospital - because it's got so many episodes (good call to previous poster who suggested).

Runners Up:
**Desperate Housewives: each episode has a "lesson" narrated (I could use this time to better myself)
**Star Trek - TNG - (it's not pretentious...would make me feel better about being away from everything)
**Real Housewives of (fill in the blank)...their ridiculous drama would just make me feel about my life even on a deserted island
