The only problem with the multiplication of comic book movies and TV series is that, inevitably, there will be a clunker (on TV; there have already been clunkers among comic book movies), or so many comic book-based TV series that the general public will not even give new ones a chance and turn away from the older series. I am loving the appearance of quality comic book-based TV series (Gotham and The Flash; I never really warmed to Arrow, though it's well-made); and I adored The Avengers and the Thor and the first Iron Man and two of the X-Men movies. But I would rather see a few really good comic-based series and movies than over-saturation of the genre.
Gotham is hit or miss, especially with fans of Batman, Marvel's tv series are misses to non fans judging by the ratings. However we need to find more Catwoman and Elekta sized bombs to derail things. If say the DC movies besides Batman vs. Superman or Justice League fail, we could see problems specifically for the DC slate. If F4ntastic, Deadpool and Gambit fail, Fox can have issues. For Marvel, they need a legacy movie to fail as well as new heroes besides Ant-Man. On TV, it could be Supergirl or (Teen) Titans that fail. The Netflix model should be a safe model for comic book tv shows because they will get the views from them and maybe a few who know it's linked or those just interested by the name.
Do I need to send my younger kids out of the room when I watch?
No fir language iff you watched guardians but it is an MA show with some blood and a few near hangings (to be fair Law& Orders did this and were TV-14.
Cool intro graphics, and with Vincent D'Onofrio. I'm sold. I don't think 13 episodes will be enough.
