Anyone catch it last night? I thought it was fascinating...
I had completely forgotten about him, but remember staying up past my bedtime as a teenager to watch him during his heyday. Seeing him again now, I can't believe he got away with what he did. It also explains the popularity of Donald Trump now.
Why is CNN showing fiction (based on actual events or otherwise) at all? Whatever happened to the Cable NEWS Network?
It's not fiction.. It is a biography.
Apparently, the real Morton Downey, Jr wasn't that far off from the person we saw on the show.
I watched it, thought it was real good. Wasn't overly shocked to hear that some of the things on the show were staged.. Thought they focused on the Tawana Brawley case too much, but.. Then again, Mort's show did.
If an actor was playing Downey, it was fiction. Since you used the phrase "wasn't that far off", I suspect you already know the difference.
An actor wasn't playing Downey. It was all archival footage. The real-life person Morton Downey, Jr wasn't that far off from the character he played on TV, named Morton Downey, Jr.
Just as Stephen Colbert from The Colbert Report is a character played by the real life person named Stephen Colbert.
If an actor was playing Downey, it was fiction. Since you used the phrase "wasn't that far off", I suspect you already know the difference.
A re-enacting of actual events by an actor doesnt make it fiction, but you already knew that.
