BTW, "South Park" refers to the area of Park County, CO in and around the town of Fairplay. We own a place there and like to tell people "I live in South Park"
Next to Cartman I think Mr/Mrs Garrison has provided the most laughs over the years, with his invention of the IT to compete with the airlines, his trip to see his dad in Arkansas, his old sidekick characters of Mr. Hat and Mr. Twig, and Mr. Slave, the Nose Job episode, sex change episodes, the Christmas song he sang in the collection of Christmas carols episode. After Garrison, I would say Butters is #3, with his parents high expectations for him to mine 200 million dollars worth of coal in the Paris Hilton episode,, and his Professor Chaos bit with General Disarray and interactions with Cartman. Randy Marsh has been quite funny from time to time, when he sings "I'm a little bit rock and roll" to oppose the war in Iraq, and the Grapes of Wrath episode where they go to California to find some internet.
There were lots of funny characters not used much anymore, or only used once. Ned and Jimbo, Kenny's mom and dad, the rancher that killed Stott Tenorman's parents for trespassing and sang "You snort K and I'll snort K baby", Kyle's cousin from out of town that complained about the dry air in Antarctica. I adore Terrence and Phillip, especially in the South Park uncut movie when they sing "Shut your ****ing face uncle F***er.
I love them all but most especially, Butters, the teacher that says "m'kay" every other word, the screaming bus driver and the pronunciation impaired owner of City Wok and City Airlines.
Randy is the easiest character to make fun of, in my opinion, followed by occasional guest - Al Gore.
The worst character is/was Tweek.
Of the 4 boys, I like Kenny. Of the other kids I like Butters.
Overall, I'll go with Butters but it's Randy who makes the show funniest.
