Some old TV shows that are still worth a watch.... I can still laugh at Dads Army.. always thought it was funny... and watch it now and then when its on....some werent so good and havent aged well although I thought at the time they were good... While in West Yorkshire I went to visit Holmfirth where Last of the Summer Wine was filmed... nice place.
I think there's a website called something like "TV Cream" that has a database of old British TV shows.
i only know that because my dad couldn't recall a particular TV show ("Man About The House"); so I did a Google, and TV Cream proved quite informative.

We lived nearby when the show was still being filmed dizzy. I used to watch the cast acting their roles from a distance.
Holmfirth is a real nice place to visit, full of Yorkshire character. I believe Bill Owen is buried in the town cemetery. He was a southerner by birth, but loved Yorkshire and Holmfirth after filming there for many years.
I think the oldest UK TV programa I have ever watched werw "Fawlty Towers" and perhaps "Steptoe and Son". Both way before my time of course, but both quite amusing, especially John Cleese.
I dont get why people like British shows. I am sure they are very good but it seems like every British show is 6 eps per season. You barely get into it and it is gone
