I hear that Days of Our Lives might end from some informal media outlets, but nothing is official.
I have watched the series before and has interesting story lines.
If the series has to be canceled on NBC, I hope the production company ends it with a happy ending and not try to shop for another network to pick it as other soaps have had no success in another network taking them in and even if they were taken in, the series failed to last long. In some situations, the continuation of the series became only available through paid subscription.
Examples of Failed Revivals of Soaps..................
All My Children and One Life To Live were on ABC for so many years and then canceled. They were revived to be aired on The Online Network and Hulu, but it failed and lasted less than a year. However, at least the viewers were able to watch them for free.
Passions was on NBC for eight years and then canceled. DirecTV picks up the rights, but lasts only a year.
Unfortunately, when it moved to DirecTV, the series was no longer available for free viewing after NBC canceled the series and even though NBC.com continued to host the official website; due to NBC Universal, which also owns the NBC network still being the owner/production company to the series, the free Passions episodes on NBC.com were discontinued.
Only subscribers to DirecTV could watch the series. And then DirecTV episodes were on NBC.com for a fee.
