My dad forbade "Three's Company" because there were two women and one man "living in sin." I used to object... but they're just roommates, Dad! I seriously never would have given it a second thought until he made it a big deal.
Saturday Night Live was also off limits. But I'd watch it, anyway, because my parents would fall asleep early.
Rotten kid.
I would have said there was never a time I wasnt allowed to watch anything except for one single incident. When I was 10 (brother was 6) we were left home with a sitter. When my mom got home the sitter was watching some Showtime movie with lots of boobs and I remember my mom getting bent out of shape. Beyond that I dont ever remember a discussion ever about tv shows/content.
I wasn't allowed to watch shows that were on past my bedtime, unless it was Saturday night and a special occasion - I remember staying up late to watch beauty pageants, etc.

So we'd go to a neighbor whose mom wasn't home during the day, shut all the curtains and watch every day in the summer. Good times! Scream and scare the heck out of each other.
Our house was a haven for kids like you. My parents watched it with us every once in awhile. And we're Catholic, too.

We couldn't watch T'sC either because "we are to avoid even the APPEARANCE of evil! I wonder what the neighbors think!"

You are the only other person I've ever encountered who couldn't watch Three's Company! Seriously, my friends laugh when I tell them my dad was super strict and if he caught me watching it, I was in big trouble. I still watched it, though, because I was told not to.
