Hello to all, I was just wondering if anybody knows why Food Network airs so many marathons. I can’t watch 12 hours of Diners Drive In’s and Dives like there were on today and I was just wondering if anyone knew why they are they like this.

Would you like your cable bill to increase even more if they, and the other networks that run marathons, had to produce or buy new content to fill all that time?

I don't watch the marathons, but DD&D is perfect to pop over to when you are watching a ball game or similar, while there is a commercial on. It doesn't matter where you come into the show.

I know that I could come in any time, I just wish there was more variety on the network.

The worst channel for marathons is Logo a channel that is SD like at 300p or 360p by the worst quality video of any channel on cable. They only play like 6 different 30 min sitcoms a week they play each for 12 to 14 hrs at a time the best show that they play is Married With Children 25 EPs in a row is just to many. The reason why channels like USA Logo and ION do these ridiculously long marathons of like only 6 to 8 shows a week is because they are a lot cheaper to show than creating 3 to 5 original programs for you channel.
