NBC's expectation for the return of "Jungle" was modest, but "Enemy" was considered an important show. A spy thriller with a grown-up budget inspired by the "Bourne" movies, "Enemy" received NBC's coveted post-"Heroes" time period. That valuable Monday hour of scheduling real estate has become less worthwhile in recent weeks, however, as "Heroes" shed viewers -- weakening the lead-in for "Enemy" and hastening its decline.
DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!! One of the BEST new shows in months! Do they even listen to real viewers? Or just someone w/ a stupid Nielsen box? JEEZ.
I think it is too bad that they can't just give people a chance to get into a show. especially one that has a bit of a different concept. so, I suppose we can look forward to some new reality show! no wonder people don't watch tv as much.
I watched it. It held my attention. But honestly, I don't know that I'll miss it. It wasn't Must-See TV. More like There's-Nothing-Better-On-Right-Now-TV.
I wish they would have put it on Fridays....and earlier.
NBC put it on right after one of their top-rated shows. I don't think the timeslot was the problem.
It probably didn't help that a show like this with a semi-big name cast and very high production values is very expensive to produce. Low ratings means low ad revenue, which means the show loses money. In network TV, ratings are king.
But it is a shame that networks axe so many shows after only a few episodes. Shows have to be an almost instant hit, or they're canned.
NBC is basically a joke anymore....they have next to nothing worth watching...and this is why. They never give a show a chance to gain an audience. They panic and shut it down if it doesn't take off like a rocket. Look back at some of tvs biggest hits....shows like Cheers, MASH, etc. etc. that had very low ratings in the first YEAR and yet, because they were given time to gain an audience, they went on to become classics and make a lot of money for their networks. I don't know who is heading these networks anymore but they sure are short sighted and do not understand the importence of letting word of mouth work in building an audience.
