The British version is *so-o-o-o* much better. There just is no comparison.
I don't know who the two hosts are but I don't like them. They aren't funny or warm and welcoming, and they just seem out of place to me.
And the level of baking just isn't the same. There is one contestant that seems up to the standard of the British show.
This post makes it sound like I hate the show, but really I just need to stop the comparison between the two versions I'll keep watching because I like the format and the judging
I think Paul Hollywood is HOT! No idea who Johnny Iuzzini is, or anyone else on the American version. I like the UK version better. Funny how so many UK shows are re-done here. I also prefer the UK version of Long Lost Family. I watched just for Paul Hollywood. On the UK version I watch for Paul Hollywood AND for the baked goods!
Lol We all have our standards. I don't even want to think about what's going on under Paul Hollywood's mouthful of crowns and caps. Yuck.
And now that I think about it, , I guess they couldn't jettison Johnny Iuzzini without tossing out horndog Paul Hollywood, too.
The British version is much better. I'm not familiar with any of the hosts except Paul Hollywood (but I didn't know him or any of the other hosts of the British version when I started watching it either).
ABC has pulled the show from the schedule effective immediately due to harassment claims against Johnny Iuzzini
Quote:
Days after ABC removed Mario Batali from The Chew after allegations of sexual misconduct, the network has pulled The Great American Baking Show from its primetime schedule for similar reasons.
Pastry chef and Baking Show judge Johnny Iuzzini is being accused of sexual harassment and mistreatment by several of his former employees at the New York restaurant Jean-Georges. According to one women, Iuzzini often stuck his tongue in her ear; others claim he used kitchen utensils to touch their buttocks.
I bet it won't air tonight. They say they're not airing any more epis with JI in them. Wonder what they'll air for those 2 hours? A seasonal movie? Guess I watch football tonight.

Where I live, it will be a 2015 rerun of reality show The Great Christmas Light Fight.
No--I think it's done. This is ridiculous. They should have hired both Paul and Mary.
They should at least air the most recent season of British Baking from the UK. We're still getting reruns.
That would be ideal.
I heard that Mary wouldn't travel to the US and it was too much to take all the contestants to Britain.
