Just finished the season. Very sorry that apparently it is the last. Loved the show and although it is tough to judge I think that each season was better than the season before.
Finished it last night. While it was certainly great TV, the abbreviated season due to COVID was really obvious. Some plot lines resolved a little too quickly and neatly while other major plot points were left dangling.
Still, all in all, a great series. Well worth watching.
Liked the end sequence. Liked the harassment subplot and its resolution. Not so hot on the spin off with Harry as a PI. When he became a PI in the books, the quality diminished.

I known that the Bosch series does not align up with the Bosch books. I have read several of the books and would like to continue with the Bosch series post-LAPD detective. Which book follows Season 7 please?

I just finished epi 6, and I have a question. After the shootout they bring a woman in and get her to confess to feeding info to someone about the investigation. Who is the woman? At first I thought it was the mayor, but that can”t be right.

Anyone?
Spoiler
An LA County Deputy District Attorney who was going to bring the case to the Grand Jury but long ago had been bought off by a defense attorney.
We paced ourselves, to enjoy this last Bosch, as we have known it. We have watched two epis a night in the past, but I wanted to make these eight last. So we watched one a night.
I think the show stayed true to its characters as we have come to know them. The arc of the stories did not seem forced, and we got to enjoy the characters be themselves and, except for Bosch, we saw them get what they wanted. We also got to see more of Jimmy (Jimmie?), a character I enjoyed in a past season. There are hints of closure and future possibilities for J. Edgar. Billets is moving up, after outmaneuvering a sexist captain and his two complicit patrolmen. In a late scene, we got to see the main characters all together outside. This was a classy move for the show, which must have been hard to stage because of covid. And many of the minor players were given good lines.
I think this season does not have a mystery to unravel, as in previous seasons. The show is literally about Bosch’s unrequited desire for justice, and his strong protective instincts as a parent. Is there a man for Maddie who can compete with her father? I doubt it.
Great season, IMO.
