Not Australian (NZ) but Brokenwood Mysteries

Definitely agree with your assessment of A Place to Call Home. It jumped the shark when Anna's husband returned. Also, the Regina madness and OTT story line could and should have been eliminated.

I loved watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries for several reasons but primarily to see Essie Davis in her stunning wardrobe and the fantastic supporting cast.

The NZ Brokenwood Mysteries are also good: easy going and not gruesome.

Old School with Bryan Brown and Sam Neill. Hands down, that was a great show. I'm desperately trying to find a version of it on DVD that will play on American DVD players.

We have been watching Fisk on Netflix.

Also NCIS, Sydney - I guess that sort of counts.

Can't think of a lot, but we liked Glitch on Netflix. Got a little politically correct and went off the rails in Season 3, though.

I'm on season 8 of Australian survivor. I've been thinking we should start a thread just on Australian Survivor - should we?

Anyway, I have a few general questions:

1 - Why is "Kez" a nickname for Karen in Australia (and I think in the UK too)?

2 - It seems that Au runs it's reality programs like Survivor every night in a block. I think that's so much smarter than once a week! Wouldn't American Survivor keep more viewership if they did this?

3 - Au Survivor is so much more physical than the American version. Who would win in a fistfight between casts? The Aussies, for sure. Do you think that Au Surv picks more physical casts or are Aussies in general more fit than Americans??

Tropo. Excellent, high quality, great story, excellent acting, strong characters.

There was a series about a little navy ship protecting Australian waters that I enjoyed, until the season when they traded in the little rust bucket for a sleek expensive new cutter. Same crew, but all the fun was gone. I can't remember the name of the series
