It's no shocker here that I've hit a few speed bumps here on City-Data and have tried to tailor my attitude and my humor to conform to this great forum.

I have my Christian convictions that are personal to me and my moral and philosophical convictions as well.

But we walk a fine line when we try to express our humor and our attitudes in the respective threads.

When I'm posting on the TV threads, I try to confine my opinions and thoughts to TV. When I see a comedian like Kathy Griffin, it makes me think of Cable TV. On those stations like Comedy Central, you've got some pretty R-Rated material.

I like to listen to Charles Stanley sometimes but it's a whole other ball of wax to the material that you'd see on here.

I'm not surprised that a strong Christian would not be in favor of censorship, but would be more in tune with "Free Will". It's great that you don't watch her stuff. I certainly wouldn't watch her in front of my parents or our nephews and nieces. They get to watch Spongebob and stuff like that.

You won't see me on the Religion or Political threads because it's too volatile and like I say, I got to watch myself here. But doesn't everybody else?

But there is open season on we Christians and if we are offended then we are just "narrow minded." Censorship? No. Don't believe in it. I just use the remote control and turn her off.

I think she's fairly offensive to terrorists, rich spoiled-brats, and celebrities who missuse their popularity for political and financial gain.
Agreed. That's actually what I love the most about her; she doesn't hold back in making fun of people just because they're popular or have a following, i.e. Paris Hilton, Tom Cruise, Lindsay Lohan, Oprah.

Regarding the whole Jesus diss during the Emmy's, I watched Kathy's interview on Larry King. Kathy stated that the whole idea behind it was to make fun of the celebrities, musicians, athletes, etc al who thank Jesus "as if Jesus doesn't have anything better to do than make sure someone got their People's Choice award". She also goes to say sarcastically that "Yes, Jesus is not busy in Darfur, he's helping Hollywood celebrities win their awards."

I can see how people can find this offensive, but it's no more offensive than the above celebrities "thanking Jesus" for their truimphs just to gain points with the audience and their fans.

It's a Kathy Griffin does Oprah and Barbara Streisand Mix
Right Here!

"And they have to be bored while they're doing it..." Are you kidding me? Did Kathy just compare Oprah to a dog hum'er well...you know...another dog's leg? She...has got guts!

I had never seen this show or really seen her comedy until a few nights ago. I have to say I absolutely LOVE her and her show...I find her hysterical. I'm now going to try and see if I can find the old episodes. I can't wait until the next episode!
