I admit it. I love reality shows. My husband calls it junk-tv. But how real are those shows. Are they all fake?

I think they are all fake. My daughter recognized one guy on a house make over show who was workin as a construction worker. He is also on another reality show as a fitness instructor. I think it is all fake and scripted. I knew someone who was on that show where you swap houses with a neighbor and they each do make overs on a room...she said they told you exactly what to say and when to say it.

So much for "REALITY" shows being real! haha I personally think that they are junk tv, and I don't waste my time on them. Just from what I see, you can tell that it isn't even close to being real. The tv editors edit all the clips and put in people saying something unrelated, but it makes it interesting to watch. i believe that the people and their actions are real, but the editing is what makes it horrible.

At the very least they are exaggerated. Please don't forget we are often seeing two or three days worth of activity in one hour. How dramatic would your life be if you packed two or three days into one hour?

Trash TV at it's finest. Relax and enjoy the shows!

I imagine most of it is scripted and planned out.

It's hard to tell. I went on a game show once and what you saw on TV was what happened on the set.

Check out the dating reality shows on MTV - those are so obviously scripted (and poorly at that). I wish MTV didn't turn into a steamng pile of faked reality shows showing mediocrity as glorious.

Default IS there anything real about reality shows?

Bad girls club, real house wifes, real world, rock of love, I love New York and so on. I know one guy who was really close to get picked for Big Brother but they told him he wasn't controversial enough.
Do you guys have any idea how this work. `

COPS is the only real "reality" show.

There is little to no reality about them. They are "mostly" scripted, and although some of the people on them are "regular guys/gals" for the most part they are VERY LOW MINOR LEAGUE actors and actresses.

Or did you assume there were that many women running around the "regular world" with breast augmentation?
