thats going down towards sandy beach, right by pools
theres a colmado on right above where the video starts that has pictures from way back when a train car derailed off of the train tracks into the water. you can still see the ruins of the train car on the beach (barrio barrero, I think)
when you're on the 413 coming from aguada/mayaguez, go thru town, past steps, past the lighthouse road, up the hill, and then on your left there will be a panaderia and a road that shoots at an angle (also on your left) follow that road, past the sign for the ding doctor (dont take the ding dr's road) and it'll take you right past these trees and on to sandy's.
These are the world's most beautiful tree. I know people like the Jacaranda, but I find them a poor substitute for these beauties. I am growing one but am in a cooler climate. They survive and grow but don't really flower
I too am growing one...now about 8-10 ", lots of branches, looks healthy....just about 18 months old...still in a pot, but I'm hopeful that it will survive and grow enough to plant in Yuma....there are some big differences in climate tho'. Cooler/hotter temperature swings and certainly not as humid as Puerto Rico....
Are you in a cooler elevated area of SJ? The reason I ask is that our flamboyants are well past their blooming season here in St Thomas in the US Virgins. They're at their height in August and pretty much all done by October. Interesting!
I miss those trees they beat coconut palm trees any day of the year, so overrated.
