My husband was fired from his job at a chicken plant. He became infested with chicken mites, there was a huge argument because the company nurse was trying to throw out a dermatologist's diagnosis. He ended up fired, my husband ended up suing.
Now.
He filed for unemployment.
Two months (exactly eight weeks of back pay), three faxed letters, and four phone interviews later- we receive a letter stating he has been disqualified due to information pertaining to his job's statement. The very next day at 8:30 AM we receive a phone call from the Unemployment Office in Birmingham. We were asleep and missed the call, but the voicemail said he needed to call in.
They called again at 11:00 AM and he answered. The woman on the phone then said he has been approved for extended relief benefits and heavily stressed that he needed to file his weekly claims. He told her he's been filing for two months, she states they do not show up on their "systems" and that they probably aren't on there because of the letter we received.
So, my question is, why in God's name would they deny him and then approve him the very next day?!
