Too true and we are very much the same. So this leads me to ask how accurate are the DOL's guess-ta-mates of how many unemployed people there really are at any point in time in the U.S. or in any one state? Granted using 60,000 people is a much better random sample than what is used by Gallup to measure the president's popularity (1,500 callers) but still it is only a small random sample. I do not understand what with the technology available why they do not go for a more comprehensive estimate by using the internet much in the way ESPN does. Yes I understand that not everyone owns a computer or has access to the internet at home, but I guarantee you that the numbers that do are well over 60,000!! More like millions if not hundreds of millions do!
Does this idea make sense or are there problems with doing the sampling by internet that I have not thought about?
