I filed for NJ unemployment about 2 weeks ago and received everything in the mail when i was to first claim my benefits and my phone interview. The only thing that is confusing me is that i was scheduled to claim my first benefits today (9/28/11) which i did first thing this morning, but my phone interview isn't until October 3. After filing my claim it gave me a confirmation number but it says "[SIZE=2]Your claim for unemployment insurance benefits has been received. Your claim is not payable at this time." I was just wondering if i did this correct with filing before my phone interview and is that why it says my claim is not payable at this time because i did not have my phone interview yet?? If anyone has any information or had this problem before please help me so i am not worried and stressing out over this. Thank you so much

You did the right thing by claiming. Continue to claim as long as you are unemployed. Once a decision is reached, it is much easier for the system to pay the benefits if claims are current.
