Im so confused about this EB ending situation. At first I thought they were trying to end EUC (tiers 1-4) and it depends on what Congress decides in Washington. Now, im hearing that the EB (extended benefits) will end as well on Dec 31st in North Carolina and this is because our trigger is set to end on 12-31. I've been following Congress in NC to see if they pass it but Im not even sure if Obama passes it, it includes EB in North Carolina, only the four tiers.
I hope my question is not confusing, its only b/c Im confused. LOL.
Don't count on EB. Your EB was suspended last year until Gov. Perdue finally got it through - your state lookback statute needed to be amended. It was a huge fight - just to get the state to agree to accept federal money at no impact to its budget. If Congress doesn't extend, NC will have to pay for EB in its entirety if Congress does not extend the legislation. Will your state do that? Doubtful.
Even if Congress extends the legislation, they may eliminate some Tiers and EB.
