Finally got job offer after almost 7 months, got letter yesterday, requesting I sign and return, job offer contingent of me passing drug test, background check, blah blah blah.

Anyway, Job doesn't start till mid Feb, so I can still apply and collect between now and then?? Not really turning down work but nothing available for me until then.

Yes continue claiming until you actually start work at this job. Many have had the job recalled after an offer. You can't be certain you have a job until you go in there and start filling out the paperwork.

As long as you continue to look for work until you start (keep appropriate records), you are eligible to file a claim. A job offer is not a job.

Glad to hear this. Good luck.

Thanks Aria for all your help over the past few months. Trust me I would rather work than be on Tier 1, looks like I have to take some steps back from where I was, at least this company has a pension and a 401k, a rarity there days...I just can't stay home any longer, I need to get back in the groove again...and hey, only 26 years till I can retire with full social security

I'm glad you took that job. At least you're easily employable. Some people can't get jobs at any level. You'll feel much better working. Is this the job you turned down last year?
