I'm in NJ, and I'm sure the answer is here somewhere but I really don't feel like searching for it.

I just transitioned out of Tier 4, and just a few minutes ago claimed the last week of that. Then it said I was eligible for another claim (EB....with a balance of $8400 even though I won't get to use all of that) and had me claim that. But at the end, it said my claim was not payable at this time.

They have not sent me any work search forms, but is that why I'm hitting a roadblock here? Or does someone need to review my claim in order to proceed?

Will they just send me the forms at this point?

Sorry, just really nervous all of a sudden...not that I haven't been nervous a lot up to this point. Thanks in advance.

Tier benefits and EB benefits are not paid in the same two-week claiming period. A new biweekly claim period will be established for EB.

NJ won't pay you EB until you've been transitioned to EB. You can't be transitioned to EB until you exhaust Tier IV - which won't occur until NJ pays you either tomorrow or Tuesday. Further, the application/transition process can't be done online on a Sunday (not a business day) in NJ, as NJ will need to perform a monetary evaluation among other things.

Expect to receive something in the mail from NJ this week with further instructions on when and how to claim.

Ok...so it's unlikely that I'll receive any payment this week other than the final week of Tier 4?

I just hope I don't have to wait too long for my first EB payment. Thanks, though.

So I just received the yellow work search form, but it lists the weeks ending 4/8 and 4/14. Is w/e 3/31 just lost to me? This morning I was paid half of my normal amount (and that payment was for w/e 3/24...the very last Tier 4 payment) but nowhere have I been told what to do for 3/31. That doesn't seem right that I'd lose an entire week, especially when the claim inquiry on the NJUI site says this:

Compensable Week Ending Date:
03-31-2012
Amount Paid:
$0.00

It seems to me I'm still owed that week. Not sure what to do except try calling, but I just tried and the wait time is (of course) over an hour.

Have you tried claiming that week? Work searches are not normally submitted for the first week of EB. You should be able to claim that week when NJ updates their database. If you aren't successful this week, try again on Sunday or Monday to claim the week ending 3/31. NJ will allow one-week claims.

Ohhhhh, okay...sounds good. I will try again this Sunday. Thanks!

Got through today (had them call me back after waiting for an hour and a half, that is) and the lady processed my payment for w/e 3/31 and told me it was likely due to the fact that I had originally been disqualified way back when I opened my claim. So I guess it was off by a week or something....in any event, I'm good.

Quick question, though...on the work search form that I'm filling out, where it says "Result of contact"...if I never hear anything by the time I send it in, I'm assuming I can put "N/A" or "No response"? Just curious...I don't wanna mess this up.

No response is fine.

No response is not an issue. EDD, surprisingly, LOL is reasonable when it comes to the work search part of the form and is aware that if you apply for a job on a Monday you may not hear back within the week, or even in the next 2 weeks. They merely want to see that you are applying for positions, they do not expect that you are able to get interviews for every application sent in.
