Hello,
I've been reading all the threads for like 3 hours, and I certainly appreciate all the free information that is being offered, thank you. A lot is state specific I understand but I still am not sure what are my next steps.

Not sure if there is something I need to do now or maybe in two weeks.

Facts:
Claimed for NJ unemployment end of April 2013 (4/28/2013 exactly)
Base year 1/1/2012 - 12/31/2012
Q1 - 13 weeks....Q2 - 7 weeks, Q3 - 0 weeks, Q4 - 12 weeks = total base weeks of 32
Base year wages: 33k
Benefit year period 4/28/2013-4/26/2014

I've been collecting unemployment since this time. Applied of UIB today for week(s) ending 10/19+10/26

My claim balance now is :$396

By this time I would of used all 26 weeks of unemployment being offered.

I assume I have to "re-file" for UIB, correct? My benefit year period is: 4/28/2013-4/26/2014. Does that mean I'm eligible for another 26 weeks of UIB from NJ? I understand being eligible and actually receiving it are two different things.

Just not sure what I should be doing next, besides continually looking for employment

Your benefit year ends 4/26/2014.

You do NOT reapply for a new State of NJ claim. NJ will NOT grant you a new State of NJ claim because you are still within the first benefit year.

When you claim your last week of State of NJ benefits, NJ will AUTOMATICALLY transition you to federal Emergency Compensation Unemployment benefits (EUC) which will be paid to the end of the year, as follows:

14 weeks EUC Tier 1
14 weeks EUC Tier 2
09 weeks EUC Tier 3

Emergency Unemployment Compensation Trigger Notice Report

Your claim qualfies for EUC if - (1) you have at least 20 weeks' wages in your base-period; or (2) your total base earnings exceed 40x your WBA.

Due to sequester, your weekly EUC payments will be reduced 7.2%.

Department of Labor and Workforce Development | Facts About the Federal EUC Reduction

Obviously, you will not exhaust EUC by the end of the year. Should Congress extend the federal legislation into 2014, NJ will continue that EUC into 2014 until exhausted.

Keep claiming. You don't need to do anything else.

Indeed. NJ website lacks clear information on federal extensions. At one time, they had a very good chart laying it all out. Now, I can't even find a page mentioning anything other than moving to Tier 1 and the sequester.

I think some states are giving up on keeping their websites informative. No one expected EUC to go on this long.
