As far as them shorting your hours, that's another separate issue. Is the head office aware of this? Do they do this to others? Basically they are stealing from you, they require you to be at your work station without relief and they deduct the time from you, at the very least this is a labor law violation.
You can make a complaint to the Wage an Hour division, documentation would help.

You are absolutely correct. I worked 3rd shift and there was not one to relieve me for regular breaks or lunches. After a while I stopped clocking out because I was not getting a lunch break, but the supervisor would clock me out the next morning stating that it was mandatory that I clocked out for lunch regardless of whether anyone relieved me or not.
