Can you explain what you mean? Aren't they the ones banning people?
The mods are the ones that moderate the forums. Some of their responsibilities are getting rid of trolls, scammers, spam, duplicate posts, and moving posts to the appropriate forum. They don't have anything to do with banning people.
I was going to stay out of this thread but if the moderators don't ban posters who does?
According to Skipito (and several others in a post about Chyvan) it was one particular moderator who 'ran them off'. Maybe that means being banned? I dont know.
That’s silly, who has the time and day to monitor Chyvan and skipito’s post,facts, and opinions and have them banned??
Really? Maybe someone reported a post a mod looked and said ban. I don't think anyone banned themselves if they truly are banned. Might have just left.

Because creating a duplicate account is also a bannable offense. I have no idea how enforced it is... but I'd imagine IP numbers wouldn't make it all that difficult.

Yep. "Not a member" means banned... and whoever did the banning isn't going to be chiming into this thread with details, so people need to just let it go. At CD a moderator is judge, jury, and executioner. It is what it is.

Actually, having a mod explain the rules would help prevent problems in the future. Otherwise people will just think banning is "personal" and not related to anything the person did wrong.
