If you work in one state for say 5 years and then take a new job in another state (without a gap in employment), but you are laid off within 3 months a would they calculate your unemployment. Is it only based off your time in the new state? Do you have to file a claim in the state you were in for 5 years?
Depending on what state you live in. You will file in your current state, but it probably be an out of state claim. You can go to your unemployment office, or to your states website and you should find the answer. Most likely, the state you currently live in will file the out of state claim.
can you get unemployment if you have a part time job?
