I think it's a GREAT idea. I have a 'friend' (I use that term rather loosely here) who is collecting unemployment, but has been offered many jobs. Unfortunately, he cannot pass a pee test because he smokes too much weed.

She did $8,000 worth of damage and I have $8,000 uncollected rent.
terrible, these losers, what a shame and your stuck cleaning up these druggie losers messes. And you tried to help her, with these druggies you can never win. Its a shame there is no way to drug test them. And sometimes you cant tell. I am sorry for the mess.

How expensive is it to give tens of thousands of people drug tests?

Less expensive than it would be to give them unemployment benefits.

Personally I think it's a good idea as well. If you do illegal drugs why are you getting free money and/or food?

What are the odds that someone who does drugs on a regular basis would be eligible for unemployment anyway?

Higher than you would think I bet.

Well, what we do is ban drugs and ban guns starting 2010! Spend the money that we are currently spending in the middle east checking every truck, container coming into this country for drugs and hire a bunch of dog sniffing dogs. Then close down all of the gun manufacturers and drug manufacturers...Then close down all of the alchohol establishments. Then shut down all of the pharmaceutical companies. Build trains and cut the car industry in half, but it is doing a good job of that anyway.
Close down any factory that is not necessary to human survival. Make everyone work 6 months on a farm and grown their own food and make their own clothes...etc... See there are a lot of things we can do, if we want to.

You're talking to the wrong chick about gun control.

Illegal drugs are banned. *ahem*

None of the tweekers I see have a gun. The Mexican cartels have guns. The gangs have guns. Illegal guns.

I'm all for hiring more dogs! I happen to be a German Shepherd fan.

I agree...let's close the meth labs! Yep! That is, if you can find them all...the hills are full of 'em. Sometimes, late at night, you can hear explosions...

Shut down the gun manufacturers. Now that's a novel idea! That will really tell the drug cartels where to stick it!

Let's shut down the legal drug companies so people like my late mom can't get pain killers as cancer eats their bodies from the inside out.

I need a train to Allegany, Oregon! Any tracks? Will there ever be? Nope. I'll keep my big pickup truck, the Corvette and my VW Rabbit Diesel, oh, and the Luv truck 4x4 and the Mazda 4x4 and the Jeep CJ5 and....oh yeah! The '87 Bronco!

We are into the sustainable living already. Are you?

AND if ANYONE suggests they close the Reeces Peanut Butter Cup factory...I will get MAD!

Soooo....we agree there's a problem with illegal drug abuse?
