I think it's a GREAT idea. I have a 'friend' (I use that term rather loosely here) who is collecting unemployment, but has been offered many jobs. Unfortunately, he cannot pass a pee test because he smokes too much weed.
Just a sweet single mom of two boys, eeking out a living as waitress at the local casino....nice, well-spoken, pretty. We even offered to help her by coming down $100 on the rent and paying the electric bill for her.
She did $8,000 worth of damage and I have $8,000 uncollected rent.
terrible, these losers, what a shame and your stuck cleaning up these druggie losers messes. And you tried to help her, with these druggies you can never win. Its a shame there is no way to drug test them. And sometimes you cant tell. I am sorry for the mess.
I completely understand your point of view. It is an invasion of privacy. But drug abuse is so rampant...what can we do?
Well, what we do is ban drugs and ban guns starting 2010! Spend the money that we are currently spending in the middle east checking every truck, container coming into this country for drugs and hire a bunch of dog sniffing dogs. Then close down all of the gun manufacturers and drug manufacturers...Then close down all of the alchohol establishments. Then shut down all of the pharmaceutical companies. Build trains and cut the car industry in half, but it is doing a good job of that anyway.
Close down any factory that is not necessary to human survival. Make everyone work 6 months on a farm and grown their own food and make their own clothes...etc... See there are a lot of things we can do, if we want to.

Shut down the gun manufacturers. Now that's a novel idea! That will really tell the drug cartels where to stick it!
Let's shut down the legal drug companies so people like my late mom can't get pain killers as cancer eats their bodies from the inside out.
