Hello, I filed a claim in NYS last March when I lost my job. I was getting unemployment benefits until October when I got a new job. I just lost that job and was wondering how I would go about filing a new claim. When I log into the NYS Insurance Benefits Online I notice that the benefit year ending date is 3/7/2010. Do I start claiming unemployment based on the old claim and when that benefit year runs out on 3/7, file a new claim? Thanks for your help with this!

Your claim should be filed in the first week that you have become totally or partially unemployed.
