I don’t know anyone that has. Once during a bad car accident I thought I was going to die and time slowed way down. I was thinking how I was leaving a 4 year old and new baby with no mom. It was awful. Just before I hit a semi head on my car hit the ice and threw me off the road into a wooded area and missed everything. I walked away fine. My car had to be pulled out and the police closed the road as I was the 4th person to go off in a hour. I was only 23.
Thing is... I cannot remember if I have or not. Although I nearly died, I dont remember anything and I was not aware of any tunnels with light at the end or anything like that.
I suspect it is 'wake-up call' to show us what we are missing out on in this life. It probably shows us "Here, this is what you have done so far...Now, what are you going to do with the rest of your life?" Like a good kick in the pants !!
I dont think we know what your talking about Miss H....
Do you mean in a dream???
I thought "life flashed before your eyes" was just a figure of speech representing a traumatic experience, and was going to post that. Only to find it has a name and some scholarly research - "Life Review" (noted by the OP).
Check it out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_review
Not exactly a scientific thesis but sort of interesting.

OH! I get it, guys...I truly thought it was a common phrase - in movies or whatever.
Ha - like 'seeing stars' --anyone have that happen ---like in the cartoons?
I have! And wow!!!!
Had a concussion for 2 months. Whew!
Now I feel like saying, ''Ok, forget it'' with respect--- cuz if you have never had it happen ---
there really is no comment!
And yes, there can be a NDE or a close call - a near-drowning is common .. when, I swear,
in 2 seconds
scenes from your life zip past your Mind's Eye and it is wowing!
But, for me...it's not just seeing scenes - you get insight extraordinaire of why they occurred, for example.
And wow.

Wow! I had a friend that was shy to talk about how she left her body
and followed the ambulance all the way to the hospital. Floated.
Miss, that’s a interesting experience your friend had. My experience seemed like it took forever but probably really was quick. My biggest fear while I was raising my kids was that I would die before they grew up. Once they were adults someone asked me my biggest fear and I realized I no longer had one.
I know someone that talks soo much, I will see his life flash before my eyes in that situation. I had strange articulated dream/hulucination when in hospital near death. Moving up a path in some sort of colorized black and white, unseen little creatures picking at me along the rising path.
