Hi guys.

I'm going to graduate in a year with a BBA in Finance and have thought about to where I want to move. I am eligible to get a UK passport since my mother was born in Scotland, so I wouldn't need to be sponsored by an employer. I was just wondering if my Finance degree would be recognized as the same as one from a UK university. I tried looking up some sample courses from UK Universities and it seems like it would be pretty similar in scope, but it'd be helpful if anyone has had similar experiences that they could share.

I've always thought England would be a good fit for me; I'm reserved and self deprecating, I don't like extreme weather and can tolerate lots of rain, I have an unhealthy obsession with football and the EPL, would prefer to not own a car, want to have universal health care, etc. The only thing I'm worried about is low entry level salaries, and I'd still have US student loans to pay off.

Are you Donald Trump?

Seriously though. Many UK employers do not worry too much about what subject you majored in. They are more interested in the fact that you have a degree. Obviously, a degree from a good US school is preferable.

Your degree would be recognized in the UK without a problem just so long as you have a valid diploma.

Of course your salary will be low as an entry-level employee, but I wouldn't say that it would be any lower in the UK than in the US. In my experience the salaries are fairly comparable. And if you choose a global finance hub like London you may find that opens career opportunities that you wouldn't get anywhere else - and that's worth a few years at lower pay.

I disagree with my experiences having lived in both places. My salary took a SERIOUS beating living in the UK as opposed to the USA. Maybe it is because it was in Scotland....but even taking a look at London it looks very spotty as to how well you are paid....I am in IT though so YMMV.
