Doesn't anyone realize that the etiquette tips were meant to be tongue-in-cheek? I love the dry British sense of humor and thought the article was absolutely hilarious.
You will always manage to find the negative side of anything, or for that matter anyone, if you are constantly searching for it.
It's the bitterness that comes with it that is revealing.
It's pretty obvious than the first article in tongue-in-cheek from the sub-heading alone, although it seems a lot of people don't realise that.
Just wanted to point out that the article posted above by Ian is NOT a true reflection of the opinion of Londoners on the Olympics as many people here are excited about it even though it's causing a little chaos. It's pretty easy to ignore positive comments if your aim is to write an inflammatory article designed to bait site visitors which is what that is. If my deleted comment was off-topic then surely his should be removed as well?

The article was written from interviews with Londoners. I'm excited about the Olympics too as I'm sure most people enjoy it. People are a little 'whiny' about the poor organization though - why else would Boris Johnson ask Londoners to "stop whining" about it?
The piece was written by Tim Dowling, who is an American columnist on The Guardian. There has been plenty of this sort of light-hearted 'advice' doing the rounds in the press and IMO this is one of the thinner attempts, but amusing enough for what it is.
