I remember those things I've highlighted.

I also remember the rag and bone man, the Corona van, and in the Cotswolds we even had our milk delivered by horse and cart in the 1970s.

I even remember ad free BBC!

We also had coal delivered by horse and cart once a fortnight into our little back yard coal bunker.

The rag and bone man used to freak me out! I used to think he looked some kind of child catcher type person, going about the street shouting out something completely incomprehensible.

Anybody, anybody remember Pink Panther Chocolate bars - a bit like milky bars (the milky bars are on me) except strawberry flavoured?
Also Moon Dust? Sherberty type stuff that exploded in your mouth?
Fudge bars (a finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat)

Spam. Lard.
Curry and rice all together in a tin.
Steak and kidney pie in a tin.
Party seven beer.
Prawn cocktail being the ultimate fancy starter.

I remember them.

What about Bazooka Joe Bubblegum, with a little cartoon and a tattoo?
Sherbet Dib-Dabs and Sherbert Fountains?

A lot of the other stuff you can still get here... you've been in the US too long, you need a weekend trip to a Tescos.

No Chinese or Indian takeaways.

My first Chinese meal was when I was around 20 years old.

Mum never cooked 'foreign' food.

I remember we got either Chinese takeaway or KFC on our way home from my piano lesson each week. Other than that, it was meat & two veg with roast potatoes for dinner.
