I am looking to ship some personal belongings from the US, mostly my queen sized bed, a few boxes of personal items. I'd say it was more about bulk than weight, so I'm wondering if shipping by sea is preferable over air shipping. I've never moved internationally, so I do not even know where to start.
Does anyone have experience with a reliable global shipper they would recommend? I'll take any advice in terms of the process or references that you're willing to give me. Thanks!
I shipped my stuff from the UK to the US but by sea was a lot cheaper. We shipped about 100 sq ft (they ship by sq ft rather than weight) for about $1200. That included the guys coming around to pack everything into boxes, taking it away and delivering to the doorstop in the US. I shipped from London to Chicago which took about 8 weeks.
