what was this father thinking, when signaled to pull over by police.. he sped of doing 120mph with his family in the back of the car, then when his car stopped he ran away leaving all of them .. shameful..
I know, you need to hit at least 140 before you can get away from those motorway patrol cars.
Hang on...
How does driving at 100 put hundreds of people at risk? Was he driving a tanker? No a Vauxhall Vectra. Was he driving through a mass protest at that speed, no, on the motorway, then off the motorway to some light somewhere where he crashed (not at 100 apparently, he ran away, you won't be doing that crashing at 100). It's a bit sensationalist by the Judge.

I don't think the judges lecture was out of line at all or sensationalist. Speeding in traffic he could have caused a multiple fatality accident. Had he hit one car on the highway and it spun into another and cars and trucks behind not been able to stop in time, multiple injuries could have occurred. He did slam into that Toyota pretty good injuring the man and his 80 year old mother. If it had been your old mom injured, maybe you would be seeing it differently. And he has had several past dangerous driving convictions and been banned from driving and still drove. So why not give this guy some strong words about what might have happened when driving like an idiot. Not like it will sink in but maybe after another bit of jail time he won't be so apt to get behind the wheel.
They should ban him from driving for life, he shown total disregard for other people on the road, seems like he was ok with risking the lives of his own children. I wonder how often he has done that.
They could ban him for as long as they like but he was already driving whilst banned.
They could do all sorts including sending him to prison. They could remove various limbs from him but none of these actions would address what seems to be the central issue- illegal drugs.
Until things change and the market for illegal drugs is taken away from criminals then people will continue to do all kinds of crazy and illegal stuff.

Well it's possible that there could be hundreds of injuries, and it's possible I could win the Lottery, neither is particularly likely.
Sensationalism is overly exaggerating an event, or making it appear more significant than it was. Here's one guy who ran away from the police (because he was already disqualified), had an accident with one other vehicle, sure he was excessively speeding, but the possibility that hundreds were put in danger is sensationalist, because they were only in marginally greater risk than from you driving down the same stretch of road, you put those same numbers of people at risk when you drive, you could lose concentration, hit a car spin it into another and the cars and trucks behind may not be able to stop.
