Hi guys,

I want to bring my Cat from UK to Minnesota, US. Does anyone know the phone number in the USA where I can find any relevant info? I basically need to find any information regarding entry requirements for cats.

Thank you...

Unless things have changed since we took our cat from the UK to Texas there isn't a lot required.

A clean bill of health from the vet in the UK was obtained.

There are certain requirements around the size of cage in which the animal is transported, if I recall correctly.

Check this out;

CDC - Bringing an Animal into U.S.: Cats - Animal Importation

It was easy to google.

Did you haveto make rabies shot for your cat?

Have you thought about putting the cat on your head and pretending it's hat.

Rabies shots are available in the UK, if you want to be extra sure.

However, unless the law has changed, I moved dogs from the UK to the USA and I was required to vaccinate for rabies within 72 hours of the animal arriving in the USA. (Verify that, it might have changed)

You will have to have health papers. Call the airline to ask what papers they want and about what size crate is required. Also ask about the cat flying "accompanied baggage" if you don't already know their requirements. USA federal regulations dictate what sort of crate you will use for the cat because it is flying into a USA airport.

Rabies shot is really important so do not pass on it. If you aren't required to get it before the cat flies, go out and get it immediately when you arrive. Rabies shot is a lot cheaper in the USA than it is in the UK.
