I'll be moving from the Washington, DC area of the United States to London this Fall to attend graduate school for a year and was hoping to get suggestions on where to live. My school is located in central London and I was hoping to be very close by, yet from what I've researched, it is extremely expensive there, even compared to Washington, DC.
My school has given me information and I'm also doing research but would be interested in suggestions as to reasonably priced apartment buildings in the area or other parts of London that I could easily access by tube, bike or preferably, walking.
It seems that Bloomsbury would be the most convenient area to live in but I've also read that areas further away such as Camden and Islington might also be good for a student. I'm single and in my mid 30's and would like to find an area with other graduate students and young professionals with very easy access to public transportation and many things to walk to close by. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
