THE daughter of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher faces a possible ban from the BBC after referring to a tennis player as a "golliwog".

According to The Times, the national broadcaster is seeking a formal apology from roving reporter Carol Thatcher, 55, after the incident backstage following last Thursday's edition of evening lifestyle programme The One Show.

That's nothing her brother tried to over throw an African nation some years ago. He got off scot free, but his buddy is doing time for it as I type.

I'm no fan of Carol Thatcher, but I do wonder at the BBCs double standards. Jeremy Clarkson (BBC presenter of motoring programme Top Gear) recfently referred to the UK Prime Minister as "a one eyed Scottish idiot". Both mocking disability and his country of origin.

Jeremy done this live on Australian TV, Carol made her remarks off air in the green room of The One Show. She's been sacked, Jeremy is still employed. Just seems strange.

The thing is, Clarkson apologised for the remark about Brown's disability and country of origin. If Thatcher genuinely didn't realise that the word 'golliwog' could be perceived as offensive then, while she was certainly being very naiive, she could be forgiven. The problem lies with the fact that, now she has been informed that it is an offensive term nowadays, she has still not issued an apology. I think that is what it getting everyone's backs up because it's as though she doesn't care.

Although I think the only reason Clarkson apologised was because he knew he would be in trouble if he didn't! Not that he was genuinely sorry about what he said. I like Clarkson as a presenter on Top Gear, but sometimes he thinks he is more important than he is. I feel one of these days soon he really will land himself in bother with no way back.

That man is a total idiot. To make reference of where Brown came from was typical of him. He needs to take a good look at himself.

And they say the Scots are bad.
