Does anyone think that this reaction is a little over the top or justified?

When you live in a house made of glass, it is always unwise to throw stones.

Yes anyone that wants to do that are complete idiots. How can someone possibly blame a nation for one mans decision?

If they want to act like that then fine but I think its extreme.

I could expect that from America.

Somebody started a website that caught the eye of the media...it isn't exactly like a national movement or a government mandate.

It is shameful that they released him. As an American, I'm upset as probably are most Scots.

Exactly! Just as you said Americans should not judge the entire UK on one mans decision, you should not judge the entire USA on one persons website or the sensationalism of the media. Neither is fair.

I won't be boycotting Scottish products or Scotland.

I will however be boycotting American products and America.

Don't judge us all by a few fanatics
as you said....don't blame an entire nation for the actions of one man ( or a few)

I would say most Americans, all though maybe a tad outraged, realize the rank & file citizens had nothing to do with the decision to release him

So you have one American calling for the boycott of Scottland.
And now Scottland is saying this is typical of all of America?

Talk about fanatics.

You don't judge us by the actions of one man and we won't judge you by the actions of one man.

See how simple this is?

For the record I love Scottland and plan on visiting.

it would be stupid to boycot a whole country because of some unwise decision, the people of Scotland were never asked what to do ...just like they were never asked in the US what to do about 9/11/....
and if one US person says something, that doesn't make it all of the country...sad how a whole country is treated because of the actions or talk of one

I agree.
This is the kind of thing that always drives me nuts. Someone says something and everybody is put in the same bag just because they share the same nationality or ethnicity. So stupid...
