“American” Bar
I apologize in advance if this is a ridiculous question. I was thinking the other day, while having a beer at a local “British Pub” type bar: are there “American” bars in the UK, similar to having a British or Irish bar in the US?

I wouldn't really say there were such a thing as American bars here unless you class TGI fridays and Tony Romas??? Most i've seen are restaurant/bar/grill.
Not pubs.

How about The Texas Embassy in London?
Probably more a restaurant than a bar.

I have always wondered at those who drink from bottles of Budweiser in pubs and clubs, presumably because they think it's an American thing. Just seems wrong. Less beer for more money, and you look like a poser. And it's Budweiser!

Lived in England for 5 years... always tried the local brew... just seemed natural to be holding a pint glass in a pub

I regularly drink from bottles and its nothing to do with being a poser or it being an American thing, its generally the way a bottle of beer is served. In a bottle. (Can't stand budweiser though, tend to favour the German beers). Sometimes I can't be bothered with pints and a bottle of beer is a welcome change.
