Sorry for the delayed reply. I havent seen "Star Search" but Eurovision is a huge Music competition. Every European country is supposed to send one contestant. There are 2 semi-finals and one Final. Some big countries send their contestants directly in the Finals like UK, Germany, Italy.
Public voting is involved thru Phone.
You cannot vote for the contestant of your country !!
Jury vote is considered 50%
Lot of politics is involved.
Like however good a song is, UK Jury will not give vote for Russia song.
Lot of Turkish people living in Germany will give votes to Turkey singer.
Norway public and jury will suport sweden and vice versa.
Greece will vote for cyprus and vice versa.
Performances are rocking. There is great excitement when you are taken on TV to different countries that how each of them voted for and then who is crowned champion.
The contest will take place in the country of the winner.
This time, Netherlands were declared winners.
