They'll be replaced with flying cars and teleporters.

Unless the city is rebuilt around trains, light rail could be gone. Like having a grid like a pizza so it's easy to get to train stops.

Light rail needs big bridges, it would suck not having it but there's new things

They'll replace the bridges with anti-mag levitation and the rail cars will float across the post apocalyptic landscape.

Fantasies like these are the principal reason I tend to pay very little serious attention to this particular forum, or many of its denizens.

circular grids, enclosed motorcycles and flying motors have been around for a houndred years.

we just havent made them float, put a train in the center and made them easy to fly.

I don't see any problems parking that AgustaWestlands thing at all. Looks almost as easy as a Smart Fortwo. Probably only costs around a million, so it's very affordable too.

In Los Angeles, lthe light rail was built recently enough that it had to meet rather stringent earthquake standards. I'm not saying a strong earthquake would not disrupt the schedules, but light rail would not be "destroyed". Perhaps you know that the State of California spent billions of dollars retro-fitting freeway bridges following the Northridge Earthquake, which was (I want to say) in 1994.

Also with raising sea levels. Maybe there will be driverless bus boats. That would be cool.

There's busses that can be boats and there's driverless shuttles, put them together.

I live in Portland and there's not many bridges outside of downtown...

Where there isn't a driver have a place to put bikes on the bus and have a bathroom, I've seen where the bus driver stops at Starbucks or something to take a pee and I've had to get off just to pee too.

Have the boatercycles have the top come down and if you jump or fall out you get back on from the back like a jet ski. Maybe har a jet ski seat so you can fit four people instead of two
