But what would New York City be without skyscrapers?
New york would be like a london or paris without skyscrapers and that sux. Nyc is basically london and hong kong combined

Becuse while new york doesnt have as many skyscrapers as hong kong, it still has an insane amount of scrapers and is considered to be a "skyscraper city" in the same vain as hong kong or a shanghai. At the same time it has a metropolis feel like a tokyo. And ny has the street level vibrance, arts and culture like a london or paris. And the pop culture media might of a los angeles

And besides new york was a skyscraper city long before hong kong and has much better architecture aswell. So thats how ny is like a hong kong and london combined

Washington DC doesn't have any skyscrapers, and it feels like a huge city.

I can't believe a city cannot have skyscrapers?!?!?! That's crazy, but Washington DC is the only one I can excuse from that- it's got great monuments to make up for it.

This sounds more like NYC has some of what London has and some of what Hong Kong has rather than a simple addition. What he's saying is pretty simple, so I don't see the point of rolling your eyes.

DC, Boston and San Francisco are the crown jewel cities of the U.S. Yes, Boston and SF have skyscrapers but much of these cities are comprised of dense walkable neighborhoods.

Love the pics of Boston that were shown earlier. Forgot how much I love that city, plus the fact that it's right on the water too...

Hialeah, FL - The densest city in the country without a single skyscraper.
Density: 11,767.3/sq mi

No place else can compare to it.

There are dense slums in India and the Philippines with no skyscrapers at all...

Joke, but really, it doesn't feel like a city to me without tall buildings. That's why I've never been a big fan of Washington DC. Not like my hometown is much better (Memphis) but we do have some
