So, after much time and luck, I finally got accepted to field practicums at Langley, Abbotsford and Chilliwack. The practicum will be dealing with children and families and I'm planning to move out to one of these cities during my 1 year long practicum.
I'm currently living in Port Moody, BC and can't decide which city to choose. I am hoping to get some of your opinions, about population rate, families/clients , job scope, crime rate/safety (since I'll be living alone) and etc.
Langley. Better to be closer to the rest of Vancouver. There's not much east of Chilliwack and while they've started operating an express route (#66) connecting Chilliwack and Abbotsford to the Translink grid, it's still a PITA if you do not have a vehicle. Then again, the same sort of goes for Langley.
Anyway, you can get to Vancouver from Langley in under an hour whereas it might take you close to an hour and a half from Chilliwack and without knowing anything else about your situation, priorities and needs at all, that should be an attractive enough incentive.
