This has been a rough week for us. We moved up to Vermont ourselves (hubby, son and I) sitting in the U-Haul on Tuesday from Long Island to VT...then we had to take Amtrak the next day (hell ride) back to NY to get our car (it couldn't be towed due to it's type), then drove up to VT again Thursday. Basically shell shocked now...doing a lot of...what the ???? did we do (normal for when you are tired, lost, sleep deprived and stressed).

Yesterday enrolled my son in school, did some errands...Lebanon is only 10 minutes by I89 and all the stores we could want but then we get to leave and go back here where it's quieter.

Okay, that's my first report...
By the way, it's too darn hot for September...90 yesterday...

Congratulations! You did it!

Just rest now. You deserve it.

Don't worry about the heat. It will get cold soon enough. Probably very cold and very soon.

I remember many days in the early school year (after Labor Day) when it would be too hot to do any real studying. 90 degree days in September are nothing new. It'll cool off soon enough.

Yeah, well this 90 degree humid stuff was rare this summer and I really loved it. It's was so nice to sit out last night though with a gentle breeze and a few shooting stars to watch. Beautiful sunset this evening and many thanks to the jet stream for keeping us cool this year...

And welcome to VT on a full-time basis GypsySoul22. I hope you find as much happiness here as my wife and I have.

Thank you all. I will keep you posted. I'd be lying if I didn't say I am scared being here with just my son and husband but so far it's been okay. Downstairs is a nice lady and I hope this week we will settle in as my son starts school.

At least we have a few months to get our bearings before the snow flies.

Don't forget to change your location on your user profile. Right now it says you are "preparing to move to Vermont very soon!!!" You're not preparing to move anymore. You've done it!

What town are you in?

Just wanted to mention that the thread title no longer applies as we are getting a nice solid rain, we really needed it and it's about 59F at noontime.
