I loved Skyrim and have been searching for a replacement. During the summer sale I had picked up a copy of Divinity II: Developers Cut. I love that game on my PC. You start off as a dragon slayer and end up as half dragon. Great game and great quest. There are parts that are extremely hard to fight through and you have to wait till your character can level up. The world is more restrictive than Skyrim - but you have better dragon movement.

It is not on sale right now - it sells on Steam for about $20. I picked it up for about $4. However; it would still be a great game for much more. Steam says I have 138 hours on the game. I do have about 1500 hours on Skyrim (although now Skyrimed out). I still have lots of game play left before Divinity ends.

I'm really liking Tales of Xillia 2. A lot of the old D&D based games like Baldur's Gate, Planescape:Torment, an Arcanum have great stories. Last of Us, Uncharted, Gears of War, and Resistance all have good stories for shooters.

The Wolf Among Us.
Best story driven game. Period.
In fact, apart from the story there isn't much else in it But if you like games and great tv series, you'll love Wolf as it is, imo a great mix of both. I really can't wait for season 2.

Are these all first person shooter types?

I don't know what it is, but I can't do those games.
Grand Theft Auto, yes.
FPS, no.

Mass Effect 2/3

I would love to hear from other fellow gamers on what their favorite story line driven games are!
Have you considered the Borderlands Series (including the DLC's)?

Many folks consider it to be purely a FPS, but the main storyline drives the missions, and consistent across the series. Huge amount of lore involved in the game, and quirky characters. Some aspects of the story is very, very subtle and you need to pay attention to get some of it, some is right in your face, and to get the most out of it you'll need to complete most of the side missions too.

Or am I the only person who considers BL/BL2/BL:TPS story driven?
