I own both and much prefer the newest Wii U iteration which is generally referred to as Sm4sh by fans. The biggest problem with Brawl is the floatiness and the inability to turn off tripping in the options menu. However, the soft mod Project M fixes all that and so much more.

Project M - Home

In fact, I enjoy all the Smash games.

So much so that I got the newest one and the highly desirable GameCube Controller Adapter at launch.

If you end up picking up Sm4sh, hit me up and we can do some friendlies on-line.

I love standard fighting games (Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter, Injustice)

I hated Smash Brothers when I got it, originally, but things have changed. I have a five year old now. A four year old cousin for my son, and a six year old.

its a button snashing non-strategic mess. . .

but playing with a large group of kids, I think it will be a blast. I'll pick it up sometime on WII U

Hey ChrisFromChicago, have you ever seen high-level Super Smash Bros. play? All 4 major console Smash Bros. releases are played competitively and there's even a legal soft mod for the original Wii iteration Brawl known as Project M.

Since I'm such a big Wario fan I'll share this clip.

But yeah, even playing with family and friends in a casual setting is a blast.

Smash Bros. is in my top five favorite video game franchises. Love the multi-player aspect whether casual or competitive. Enjoy the series so much that I even own a Japanese cartridge of the N64 original that's been modified to play on a U.S. console.

Go ahead and ask me who my favorite characters is in Sm4sh.

Nintendo released a patch for Super Smash Bros. 4 today, and also made MewTwo available for free to those of us who bought both the Wii U and 3DS versions. To get him, we just had to register both versions at Club Nintendo before the cutoff date.

Later today I'll do some on-line matches on the Wii U version of Sm4sh to see what's been done, if anything, to make the game less defense. I'm also eager to see how my main Wario has been affected by the update.

Those of you who may be thinking that Super Smash Bros. games are just for children should probably watch this video to learn about the sublime nuances of these incredibly deep series of fighting games.

These tutorials are also helpful if you'd like to start playing the newest version of Super Smash Bros. on either the 3DS or Wii U.
