Smile Lonesome Pine Cabins/Fancy Gap

This is probably more of a comment instead of asking a question, but I just want to let the people of Virginia know, (of course, they already do know), how beautiful their state is. After the Flea Market in Hillsville, we stayed at a campsite called, "Lonesome Pines" just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. It is located in a small town called Fancy Gap between Hillsville and Galax. The campsite had cabins that were absolutely the nicest place we have ever stayed in. The views of the mountains, as we sat on the porch swing, were incredible. Took my breath away.

My husband had to drag me away when it was time to come home. I cried! First time I did not want to leave and go home. We were planning on retiring in nine years to this area beforehand, but now I can't wait! I am hoping to even find a small place that we can commute to if only on week-ends.

If anyone needs a place to stay in this area, I cannot recommend highly enough "Lonesome Pine Cabins". Beautiful, beautiful area, and the people so friendly and accomodating. (sp?)

In the morning I watched the sun rise up over the mountains.

My soul is already "yearning" to return!

Oh no, just read about your feeling sick all weekend, yikes! So sorry that happened! One thing I do love about NC is the sanitation ratings in all our restaurants. I just make a habit of not eating anywhere that scores below a 97 and seem to stay pretty healthy! I hope next year is better for you.

Thanks, lovesM! I haven't been on the NC boards for quite a while. It's good to see you still posting.
